    Day 01


    Airport – Sigiriya


    Travel Time – Approx. 4-5 hrs.


    AM - Welcome & assist by Helanka Vacations. Our Chauffer guide will pick you at the airport and transfer to Sigiriya. Climb the 180-meter rock which was a royal citadel for nearly 20 years. This great exiting site is nearly one hectare in extent. The rock fortress was built by King Kashyapa who killed his father to gain his wealth. This wonderful fortress is a masterpiece of artistry. Sigiriya has been made famous throughout the world for the frescoes on its rock wall and advanced water system. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Day 02


    Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa- Sigiriya


    Travel Time – Approx. 2-3 hrs.


    AM - After breakfast transfer to visit Polonnaruwa. Sightseeing in Polonnaruwa with visits to the largest man-made reservoir, the “Parakrama Samudraya” (the sea of Parakrama) built during King Parakrama’s reign. Also see the ruins of Shiva Devales and Hindu style decor which show the influence of Hindu culture on Sinhala Buddhist culture. The “Gal Vihara Complex” with its imposing Buddha sculptures in granite which is one of the most evocative pieces of sculpture in the world can be seen. Unique style of brick work architecture can also be seen at Lankathilaka Viharaya. The other interesting places are the ruins of the King’s Council Chamber, the Royal Pavilion, Kirivehera and the Gal Viaharaya. All these places show the height of stone craft and artistry of this period

    PM - Back to Sigiriya.

    Day 03


    Sigiriya –Dambulla – Matale – Kandy


    Travel Time – Approx. 3-4 hrs.


    AM- After breakfast visit Dambulla Caves. Visit the impressive Dambulla Rock Cave Temple en-route which sits 100m to 150m above the road. The hike up to the temples begins along a vast, sloping rock face with steps in some places. The caves’ as a place of worship is thought to date from around the 1st century BC. There are five separate caves of which the interiors are carved into magnificent rock temples containing about 150 images of the Buddha. The interiors are also gilded, earning the place the name “Ran Giri” (Golden Rock).

    PM - Transfer to Kandy . En route visit Matale Spice Garden. Woodcarving Factory & Spice

    Garden in Matale at the Woodcarving Factory one could witness craftsmen display a

    variety of woodcarving skills. The visit to a Spice Garden is an excellent way to discover

    the alternative uses of familiar spices which are integral to Sri Lanka’s cuisine and

    Ayurvedic traditions. You will see Cinnamon, Cloves, Nutmeg, Vanilla beans, Cardamom

    and Black pepper to name a few.

    After that city tour in Kandy. Kandy is considered the capital of Sri Lanka’s hill country and there are several interesting places and sights for tourists to visit. The city tour includes a visit to the main Kandy Market, the gem museum and other interesting places. You will also see the beautiful manmade Kandy Lake which is located close to the Temple.

    In the evening visit cultural show in Kandy. View a colorful cultural performance of Kandyan Dancers. The finale is a display of fire-walking.

    Day 04


    Kandy – Pinnawala – Bentota


    Travel Time – Approx. 5-6 hrs.


    AM- After breakfast transfer to Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The orphanage was created to protect abandoned and orphaned elephants. It has now grown into a popular elephant attraction in the country and with good reason, for no where else except at Pageants (processions) are you likely to see so many elephants at close quarters. The elephants are controlled by their mahouts (keepers) who ensure they are fed at the right times and don’t endanger anyone but otherwise the elephants roam freely around the sanctuary area. There are many elephants in residence from babies to young adults. Among the attractions, you will be able to witness elephants being lead to a nearby river for bathing. You could also see the feeding of the baby elephants which is the highlight of the visit.

    Day 05


    Bentota – Kosgoda – Bentota


    Travel Time – Approx.1-2 hrs.


    AM - After breakfast transfer to Vist Kosgoda turtle hatchery. Kosgoda is famous for its sea turtle conservation project operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. It was established in 1988 to protect Sri Lanka’s turtles from extinction. Since then it has released about 3.5 million baby turtles into the wild. The hatchery pays fishermen for eggs that they collect at night along the long sandy beach. Although October to April is the main laying season, some eggs (mostly green turtles) can be found at Kosgoda throughout the year.

    Day 06


    Bentota


    Whole day lesiure at Bentota Beach area. ( Breakfast Included)

    Enjoy a dip in the pool or catch the sun on the little patch of private beach within easy access of the Resort.
